Mind Blowing Facts About My Jumbled Text.

 This term in Te Ngahere we have been doing a Jumbled Text. A Jumbled Text is a text that the paragraphs are not in order so you have to correct it. The reason why we were doing a jumbled text was because we were going to write a story and we needed to know how to lay it out. I think that I did okay. I did get some feedback but in the end I got it all done. Our jumbled text and the story was supposed to be about friends. When we write our story it will go onto our report.

Mind Blowing Facts About My Creative Writing Sample.

 This term in Te Ngahere we did a Creative Writing Sample to see how we write now and at the end of the term we do the same, hopefully our writing has improved even more.  First we had to choose a feeling and that would be the main feeling throughout the whole text. After that we had to write where the story was set. For my feeling I chose nervous and for my scene I chose A battle between 3 then 2 then 1 ship. The reason why the number of ships goes down is because there is a battle and one of the ships get sunk then the other gets sunk too. I got the mood and atmosphere (feeling and scene) from a book that I really like.

Mind Blowing facts about our T Ball.

 This term in Te Ngahere we have been learning how to play T Ball. The rules to T Ball are when you hit the ball you have to run even if you are already on a base. When there are no more chances to get anybody out the backstop shouts ball in and they get ready for the next batsman. Every time somebody makes it to home base then the batting team get one home run. After everyone on the batting team has a go at batting they switch over. When we played we batted first and got 7 points and when it was our teams time to bat I was the backstop. I was the first backstop in the whole entire game to get someone out because one of the people clipped the ball so I got it and put the ball on homebase before the runner did. In the end my team won the score was 11 to us and 7 to the other team.

I think that I did well because  (with help from my team) I got almost the whole of the other team out.

Mind-Blowing Facts About My Te Reo Maori.

 This term in Te Ngahere we have been doing a Te Reo Maori DLO. Our DLO had to be a weather report first of all we had to learn the names of the weather like sun (ra) rain (ua) and a storm (awha) in te reo Maori. After that we had to start writing a Te reo Maori script. In our groups we had to say the weather in 4 different places all in NZ. I did Paihia, Kapiti, Mangonui and Whangarei. After you write the script you have to do a screencastify of your group saying your weather report as if you were on TV.

I think I did pretty good except most of it I got help from the teachers and other students.

In our script we had to introduce ourselves and say a farewell at the end.

Terrific T-Shaped

 This term in Te Ngahere we have been doing lots of T-Shaped. This T-Shaped was about looking at a picture and thinking of what was happening and what might happen next. I found it quite easy because I have a good imagination. It helped us to start looking at mood and atmosphere in stories.

Cool Cricket.

 Today a man called Neil came in and tought us how to play Cricket. When we got out we had to start batting. After a bit of batting we had to play a game of Speed Cricket we were Feilding first and I was the  Backstop. I was the best player that played backstop in our team. Then when it was are teams turn to bat I was the first one up. We changed positions 6 times. The other team beat us by only one point.

I think that I did pretty good

Because I got a person out by

catching the ball on the full.

The Holidays.

 During my two week break off school I went fishing. On the Saturday of the last week I cycled all the way to Waitangi from Paihia School (my school). That is about 2 miles. When I got there I realised I forgot to bring my knife and chopping board so I had to use my mums work scissors. I got in big trouble for that. As soon as the bait was on the hook I cast my sabiki in the water. Almost straight away I caught a Spotty. Spottys are not edible and are no good for bait so I put him back. When I put the rig back in the water I hooked I nice Parore but if I pulled it up with only the sabiki it would have broken. I had not got the net out yet so I had to get it out with only one hand. In the end the hook hooked onto the net a went snack so the big boy got away. After about one more hour I went back home very sad.

Next time I go fishing at Waitangi I will set my net up first instead of the rod.

Interesting Music Lab

 This week in Te Ngahere we have been doing Google Music Lab. It was very enjoyable and I made a bunch of songs. First we had to think of an appropriate for school song on Youtube then we had to listen carefully to what instruments were playing at what time. After we had recorded all of that in our books we had to start on our song.

I think I did a good job for one of my first songs ever but near the end, it ended up being not as good as the start. I hope you think I did well with my song.

The Wonder lesson’s.

 Last week in Te Ngahere we we had to write what we learnt in The Wonder Project. First we had to plan our writing then after that we would have to start. I planned that I would explain Newton’s 3 Laws Of Motion and why we needed them in our bottle rocket. I have done another blog post about The Wonder Project, you should check it out. Link.

 For the past few weeks we have been doing movie making. First we had to write a story when we had finished the story we had to write a script. After we wrote the script we had to start on our movie. Our movie was about a war that had been going on for so long that they had to leave earth and go to a new planet. I have posted about this before you should check it out link.

I think that I did a good job but it was hard to follow the storyline for some of the movie.

Amazing Facts About Pick A Path

 This week in Te Ngahere we have been learning how to do a Pick A Path it was very fun and hard to choose which way to go. I bib get there in the end and it is awesome. A Pick A Path is basically you choose a situation then you give the reader a choice to do one thing or to do the other. After they choose one of the options then it leads you to some more options to choose from.

I think that it was very good I hope you think that to.

Awesome Facts About Te Reo Maori.

 This week in Te Ngahere we have been learning to pronounce Te Reo Maori when we started we had to look at a story that we were learning then change the last word to a sport. It was hard at first but I did end up getting it. After we had done writing we had to practice our pronunciation of the words. After we had thought we had got it we had to make a DLO.

 This week in Te Ngahere we have been doing mathes DLOS and I got put into a group with Rymon and Dale. We were learning about prime numbers. After we were done making the slide show we had to do a screencastify I did some Dale did some and Rymon did some. I think that we did very good but we did not do too many practices so we did have trouble reading some of it in our DLO. Here is the screencastify.

My Attempt At Cross-Country

 For the past few weeks we have been training for cross-country.  I liked practising to get more stamina. I am getting better at other sports that involve running so I have to motivate myself to do a few more laps than I normally do. The way that we do it is that we have to run to the opposite goal post then round the back of the playground then you will end up where you started.

Amazing Facts About The Kawa Of Care.

 This week we have been redoing the kawa of care because some other people were not following the rules to protect their Chromebook. We had to think of a way that we could show the kawa of care I chose a short film. I learnt that you have to put your charger away from a walkway and tucked away in a safe place so that the charger doesn't get broken.

The Wonder Project

 This week we have been doing something called Wonder Project which is two people their names are Gustavo and Troy and they come in to talk about building a rocket. So far we have learnt how to launch the rocket and what we need to build it. I think so far my group have been doing very well because we have been handing in are writing on time. Movies

This week we have been learning how to make movies and I think that it was very fun. First we had to write who was in the movie and then we had to start a script.

I think that I did very good because it was very ease for my group to understand.

Narrative Writing.

This week we have been doing some writing our topic was to
write a story with a rocket launching. For our writing we had
to make a plan. My plan was like an apocalyptic Earth here is
some of my plan.

There is a war with aliens and zombies on Earth.

The war has gone on for so long that there is no oxygen on
earth so some humans go to a new planet on a rocket.

All life on Earth dies including the aliens and zombies.

Thomas Parzival is the hero of the new planet and he is the king.

John Parzival and Thomas Parzival crash land on earth
and Thomas Parzival is badly injured.

Only John Parzival, the most scared of them all, has to find the
other half of the ship so they can send a radio transmission
to the new earth.

My plan was hard at points but in the end I think it was quite
easy.

Back at school.

My favourite lesson so far has been about rockets and I think it was
very fun. I had to learn about newton's law of motion.
Then we had to read a story about some kids that made a rocket
out of a fizzy drink bottle. My job was to right the design process

Sweet Maths

Kia ora my name is Robert and my class is called Te Ngahere.
We have been learning to find fractions of a set.
I find that fractions is not very hard most of the time.

This Is What Happens When You Tik Tok

Today in our class assembly we did Tik Tok dances and I think
that I was very good. I really enjoyed our assembly because it
is very different to what we normally do.  Mihipeka and Anyah
are students from my class and they came up with the idea.
The part of the dance that I found hard was doing the hip
thing. I hope you enjoy the video.

NARRATIVE WRITING

WALT organise our ideas before writing

The past 2 weeks we have been making a piece of writing.
My writing so far is 3206 words and I am super proud I am not
even finished yet. 

I think that I did very good but I did have a lot of spelling errors.

This is the first paragraph. 

“112 are you ready for blood transplant”
“affirmative mission control.”Here I am in an Ark. (If you are
wondering what an ark is it is a kind of machine that digs and
digs underground then stops and waits for about 50 years after
that it rises and opens). As I walk to my pod I think of all of
the people that are changing. All of the people that are hiding.
Waiting. Hoping for safety to arrive. When my pod closed I fell
asleep and knew I would be in for a big change when I wake up.

Math Dlo

This week my class has been learning about how to use
angles and then make a DLO. At first my DLO was going okay,
but then it started to get hard. The reason why it was so hard
was because I did not know how to explain what you had to do.
After a bit of thinking I went to go and see Ben, he helped me out
a bit.I think that I did very well. All I need to work on is using less
slides. After 2 days I finished it and here it is.

Trick shot

In Te Ngahere we did a trick shot challenge.
The first instruction was to find a way to get a ping pong ball
into a plastic cup in the most creative way possible.
It had to be at least 3 seconds long. My group was
Jamie, Ben and Zane. The day that we started we finally
figured out what we were going to do. We were going to play
a game of ping pong and I was one of the people playing it.
After we play the game for about 3 to 5 seconds one of us are
going to start bouncing it up and down on the bat then pretty
much put it in the cup.

Today for work we got to do art and the teacher said that we had to do it on google
drawing, I thought that I would go on to it try to do what I was supposed to do,
I couldn’t figure it out. Then I saw what I wanted to see. Instructions!
When I finished it was not that good but I was able to figure out how to use
google Drawing. The thing that I think that I could improve is making my lines neater
because it makes me look like I am very very VERY wrinkly. The thing that I would do
differently is if there was a part on the instructions that when you draw a wonky line
it straightens it out for you. I wonder if the teachers can talk to the people that invented
google drawing. Then they could tell them about my issue.

Date:Week 3

My Writing: Tech (1)                                                                                                                                

We road the bus to get to tech and it took ages.
When we finally got there the teacher went
through the safety instructions.
When our tech teacher had finally finished we
got to play around with the power tools and try
and make our own project. I did ok and I loved it.
The project I made isn't quite finished yet the next
time I go to tech I am going to try my hardest to
finish it.
